大熊猫 Giant Panda

I am doing my online activity for Chinese that I never realised was due last Friday I have been so focused on studio I totally forgot, I think I need to keep a better diary before I forget the next one is due on the 18th. I am finding as there are so many new Chinese Characters being used to understand what is being said I need to translate the whole paragraph into English answer the questions translate back into Chinese this whole process takes a few hours to do and I am only just picking up the basics of what is being said as when a character is translated like English a word can have several meanings so you have to just choose what you think is being said. I don’t think it was such a good idea now to learn Chinese as I am time poor already and now its just getting stressful killing my enthusiasm, but its nice to work hard on something and know what you are doing for once.

When I was translating about a giant panda and what it does in the day I some how ended up with he loves to cuddle peoples heads, instead of he loves to hold up his head, so still along way to go before I can make sense of new characters and their translations. I only have three more text lessons in the book to learn and its only week seven, though class finishes in week 12 so hopefully I can improve before the exam.

I have always struggled with grammar as when I was learning it, it was to boring and I thought useless as knew how to communicate what I needed so I never paid any attention, its amazing to now go back and pick up everything I have missed, a shame about spelling though as I forget letters so easily that I don’t hand write out sentences anymore, and as I take notes in dot points its not really a problem. So never learning the real basics of English with in Chinese I am getting a quick refresher.

Hopefully it will all make more sense later on its just so fast paced I don’t have time to absorb it.

I was looking though my feeds and came across this link about zen. I remember that in class it was mentioned a few times so I thought I would quickly post the link.
拜拜 That’s Chinese mimicking English’s goodbye.
再见 That’s Chinese for goodbye meaning see you again, or really similar anyway.
