75. Bebedero/ Drinking Fountain

Description: Wall item of great simplicity, half fountain, half statue, made up of spout, a water pipe and collector grating. 1986 Madrid city council Architecture and design prize.
Dimensions: spout height 70 cm
Sculpture disc diameter 28 cm
Technical specifications: Spout with standard pushbutton set into wall support on a square plate.
Water pipe sculpture made in cast bronze.
Water collector grating in cast bronze resting on a L shaped frame.
Fixing: The disc is secured by four bolts set into the wall.


76. Fuente/ Drinking Fountain

Description: very simple and easily-used public drinking fountain composed of an inclined cylinder. For instillation over a bowl or grid, by choice of the project architect.

Dimensions: Total height 120 cm

Shaft diameter 16.8cm

Base diameter 30 cm

Technical specifications: The shaft is a 5mm galvanised steel tube, inclined 10 from the vertical and cut off at either end parallel to the pavement. It is closed off at the top, while at the bottom there is a 10mm plate which serves as a base for fixing to the pavement (by means of three resin plugs) The handle is of a galvanized steel and the pipe brass.

All the metal parts are painted with dark grey polyester or epoxy paint, combined with parts painted in sky blue.

Fixing: The solution proposed by the designers is a masonry bowl, with drain, upon which is a 100x100cm Smith galvanised mesh grating placed diagonally with respect to the fountain.

Description:
Stainless steel, bronze or cast iron drinking fountain of great formal simplicity, with a single piece projecting from its shaft, a stainless steel gullet spot with a small inclined orifice through which the water flows. Set flush with the pavement is an undulated water collector grating.
Dimensions: Shaft height 105cm
Base (shaft and grating) 82.5x22cm
Technical specifications:
Oval- section shaft, matt finished 1cm stainless steel. Stainless steel bright finished 30mm ball. With 3mm diameter inclined spout framed by a 5cm concave hemisphere. The pedal, a 2cm diameter bright finished stainless steel bar operates a timer housed inside the shaft. Undiluted water collector grating in matt finished stainless seel, measuring 10x20x190mm. Finishes in cast iron or bronze, while the pedal and spout are in stainless steel.
Fixing: The shaft and grating are set on a 300x900x115mm matt finished stainless steel box previously set into the pavement. The shaft is secured with flat head Allen bolts, while the grating simply rests.


78. Fuente/ Drinking Fountain
Atlantida (1991)

Description: Cast monolith, with standard brass pipe. Its rectangular geometry allows it to be installed in isolation, repeated in different positions, or even set into a wall. The drainage great geometry can provided further compositional variations.
Dimensions: Total shaft height 120cm (110 above the pavement)
Shaft section 30x15cm
Grating dimension 91x15cm by 4.5 thick.
Technical specifications:
Single rectangular-section shaft in cast iron, with cast bronze pipe set into the upper part. Cast iron grating highly unusual pattern, resting on a surround which is also of cast iron.
Fixing: Set 10cm into the ground. The grating rests on a metal surround set flush with the pavement and of the same size as the water collector drain box.


79. Fuente/ Drinking Fountain
Sarastro (1993)

Description: Drinking fountains forming part of the Flauta Magica, opera de mobiliari urba range. It is composed of a cor-ten steel cylindrical support with an upper truncated-cone bowl in stainless steel characterised by a built in sundial.
Dimensions: Total height 100cm
Shaft diameter 20cm
Bowl Diameter 47cm
Technical specifications:
The support is a 20cm diameter cor-ten steel plate cylinder, with a stainless steel button and timer.
The bowl is made up of truncated cone with a disc containing a triangular component from which the water spurts, draining down afterwards between the disc and the bowl. The bowl is of a polished stainless steel, while the upper disc is of satin-finish stainless steel.
Fixing:
The shaft is threaded onto four bolts situated on the collection box through which the fountain water runs out through the cylinder itself.



80. Fuente/ Drinking Fountain
Canella (1992)

Description: Stainless steel fountain to be installed on walls or other features in public spaces. Its appearance and ingenious method of placement set it apart from the other fountains on the market.
Dimensions: Spout Diameter 6cm
Footprint 42x20cm
Total height 18cm
Technical specifications:
Composed of two cylinders (spout and push button) interconnected by a third, which through a threaded mechanism releases the pushbutton so that any maintenance problems can be tackled.
The spout is welded to the base via two flanges, while the base is anchored to the wall or other supporting element. Except for the base, which is matt, the entire fountain is in polished stainless steel.
Fixing: Set into the wall, supports the thickness of the base as in the drawing.


81. Fuente/ Drinking Fountain
Corriente (1993)

Description: Triangular section cast fountain for parks and gardens. The water emerges through an orifice situated on an inclined plane at the top. The excess water runs down the drain inside the shaft. The water outlet is activated by a foot-operated button.
Dimensions: Shaft height 90cm
Shaft depth 22.5cm
Shaft base depth 28.5cm
Technical specifications:
Triangular section nodular cast iron shaft painted with oxi-ron paint. The bottom part on which the pedal is placed is of a larger section.
The button and the water outlet orifice are of polished stainless steel.
Unlike most fountains, this one requires no exterior grating, as water inlet and outlet take place totally hygienically and cleanly inside the shaft.
Fixing: Set with respect to the pavement level, the shaft is secured by bolts anchored to a concrete block, which must be designed to accommodate inlet and drainage.
